Paul was born in Manitoba and moved to Ottawa when he was 12. He was a goalie on high level competitive teams while growing up, before switching to forward after high school. He played for the University of Ottawa and was tendered offers to play at Michigan Tech before opting to stay in Quebec where he played in competitive Senior leagues. Paul started his coaching career in 1984 and has coached Mite to Midget age teams at AA-B levels. He coached Squirt & PeeWee teams for 7 yrs and finished in the top 5 at the Ottawa city championships every year. He has coached with NHL Hall of Famer Brian Kilrea who still coaches for the Ottawa 67’s in the OHL. Paul coached for the Nepean Hockey Assoc. for 13 yrs before moving to Katy in late 2005. He coached the Wild Bantam AA team in 2007-08, and has coached the Cinco Ranch Varsity team in the ISHL for 2 yrs. He has been around hockey all his life, and hopes to see the sport continue to grow in Houston while passing along his knowledge, experience, and love of the game to young, inspired players.
